Dating back to the middle ages, it is believed a tree spirit will bring good fortune and prosperity into your home. At
Woodpile Carvings, Elizabeth Brown hand-carves each tree spirit, along with many other designs, with knives and gouges; then she hand-finishes each piece. No two pieces are ever the same,
inspired by nature, history, or imagination.
Now a full-time carver, Elizabeth learned the basics in the Annapolis Valley from Bob Morrison, an excellent carver and
teacher. Since returning to Liverpool, Liz has resumed woodcarving, attempting to improve her skillls and broaden her creative scope.
Although she still considers herself a beginner in the realm of carving, Liz is pleased to share her work as she journeys
through this extensive art form.
